Stressed out? Try Meditation, Feel Better!

Stressed out? Try Meditation, Feel Better!

Are you stressed out?

Does it feel like the whole world is against you?

You are not alone!

According to an American Psychological Association survey, 84% of adults reported feeling at least one of the numerous emotions associated with prolonged stress.

It is also very evident and understandable that the present COVID-19 pandemic just added more stress to the already stressed-out society we live in.

There is however a free (and fairly easy) method that can help anyone who is willing to stop what they are doing, sit down or lay down, and take the time to breathe in life, peace, and bliss back into their body and mind.

And obviously, (hence the title of this blog) this method is with the practice of meditation

Neuroscientists such as Dr. Joe Dispenza have proven scientifically that with regular meditation, the functioning of our body undergoes a change such that each cell in the body fills with more energy.

With the increase of this important energy in our body, joy, peace, and mindfulness are increased.

As already stated, most people live in a world that is constantly pushing them to live in a “stress mode” day in and day out

However, peace of mind, good health, greater energy, and a healthy relationship are what everybody is looking for.

Meditation is a practice with countless values that can bring that peaceful feeling that we all crave.

It offers many health benefits because it is a safe and simple way to balance your physical, emotional, and mental state.

One of the most important health benefits of meditation is how it releases stress from our bodies.

In fact, it is a great and proven way to cure stress-related illnesses and mental states such as anxiety and insomnia, and even depression (or burnout).

Meditation, when practiced regularly, will lead you to a deep level of relaxation, concentration and will help you “finding your center”.

What does finding your center means? Well it’s a term used to describe when someone connects with it’s own spirit, this inner peace and goodness that we all have but often push back in.

It’s that intangible inner place that you know is there but seldom use when we are fully awake or in beta state.

For some people it can mean where they connect with higher power or God.

In other words, it’s a very safe place that we all have and that we can access when we do take time to connect with it.

Upgrade your internal “software”

Computer Brain

We can compare the brain with a computer.

We already have all the hardware (the actual brain or conscious mind), so to “change” your “self”, we need to change the software (the subconscious mind).

By meditating regularly, you absolutely can achieve the physical and spiritual benefits of meditation.

It can also make structural changes in the brain. There is a sort of neurological “out with the old in with the new” process that happens after a while.

But it won’t happen with a 10-minute breathing exercise.

Just like a muscle being stressed in the gym and growing after weeks and months of regular weight training, the brain has to be “trained” as well.

I am talking from experience here.

Depending on how deep of a meditation you can achieve, the response to the stimulation caused by your meditations will get the cells and neurons in your brain to form new connections and disrupt the old ones.

This influences the neural circuits of the brain, which in turn affects the way we react to everyday life situations.

This process will enable you to “become aware” of your daily stresses and try to understand what causes them and why.

In this manner, by acknowledging these mental states, you can “change your mind” or as we said in the sub-title “upgrade your internal software”.

So how do I start?

Start

The main goal of meditation is to go beyond the mind and experience our essential nature—which is described as peace, happiness, and bliss.

Dr. Joe Dispenza (which by the way is THE expert person/coach/guru who has influenced my meditations and enabled me to reach such a bliss) calls this mental state the quantum field.

To reach this mental state, you will need to practice meditation for a period of time. You can`t reach this state with a 5 minutes session either, you will need practice.

Depending on your experience meditating, I can honestly say that the mind itself is the biggest obstacle standing between mindfulness and chaos.

But meditation does not have to be difficult, and the mind can be “tamed”.

The first step is to begin by being present and focusing on your breathing.

Close your eyes and breath in for 5 seconds, then exhale for 5 seconds. Repeat for 10 minutes and you have done your first meditation. It’s that simple if you want to start right away.

This method is called “heart coherence” and I talk about this in another article.

Without even realizing it, by stopping everything and just focusing on your breath, you are telling your body to take a break and you are connecting to your heart chakra.

When a thought pops up in our mind, attend to it, be open to it, and let it pass, then you come back to the breath.

The important thing is to try not to react to those thoughts and just let them pass.

The more you practice it, the more it becomes easy.

Once you have practiced enough times, you will experience inner joy and contentment and feel like you have given yourself an inner vacation.

But do you know what is the biggest issue here, why people don’t succeed?

They don’t take the time!

If you want to succeed, you must love yourself enough to do it!

Release stress, feel happier, and change your life!
